Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on sponsorship, visas, costs and how we work. Can’t find yours? Ask us — the first assessment is free.
For employers
What does it cost to sponsor an overseas worker?
Costs depend on the visa program, your business size and the role — they include government charges (such as the Skilling Australians Fund levy), and professional fees. After a consultation we provide a transparent, itemised quote before you commit to anything.
How long does employer sponsorship take?
Processing times vary by visa stream and Department of Home Affairs workload. What we control is preparation: complete, well-documented applications avoid requests for further information — one of the most common causes of delay. We outline realistic timeframes for your situation upfront.
The role I need isn’t on an occupation list. Do I have options?
Often, yes. Labour Agreements and Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs) can provide access to occupations and concessions outside the standard lists. We assess whether your business and location qualify, and manage the agreement process end to end.
What obligations come with being an approved sponsor?
Sponsors must meet ongoing obligations — including record keeping, notifying the Department of certain events, and ensuring sponsored workers are employed in their nominated role. We help you understand and stay on top of these so your business remains compliant.
For individuals & families
Is the initial assessment really free?
Yes. You tell us about your circumstances and goals, and a Registered Migration Agent reviews them and responds — at no cost. If a paid consultation or engagement makes sense, we quote fees transparently before you decide.
Which visa is right for me?
It depends on your occupation, qualifications, age, family situation and goals — and the options change as legislation changes. A strategy consultation maps the pathways realistically open to you, with honest advice about their requirements and trade-offs.
What should I prepare for a consultation?
Helpful documents include your CV, passport bio page, qualifications, any skills assessments, and previous visa applications or decisions. Our consultation form lets you upload these securely in advance so your session focuses on strategy.
My visa was refused or cancelled. Can you help?
We regularly advise on refusals, cancellations and review options, including tribunal review where available. Time limits for review are strict, so contact us as soon as possible after receiving a decision.
